What do I need to activate?
To activate on a Virgin Plus phone plan, you need:
- An eSIM compatible mobile phone or a physical SIM card
- A valid foreign passport

What mobile phones are compatible with these rate plans?
Your phone must be unlocked and compatible with LTE AWS (1700 MHz) or LTE 700 MHz bands, or UMTS/HSPA compatible on 850/1900 MHz bands. See your phone's user guide for information about network compatibility.

You can still sign up and activate with eSIM. You can be activated in minutes and it is secure.

What is an eSIM?

- All plans include: Call Waiting, 3-Way Calling, Call display and Voicemail 3. Call Forwarding will be charged at 25¢/min.
- Your promo consists of a monthly credit off the current price. The current price is subject to increase during your subscription. If the current price increases your monthly, price will increase but you will continue to receive your monthly credit during the promo. Any change made to services may affect the price and/or result in the loss of credits or promotions, as the case may be, as eligibility conditions may vary.

- Plans with 4G LTE data speed may reach download speeds of up to 150 Mbps, while plans with 3G data speed may reach download speeds of up to 3.1 Mbps. Both 4G LTE and 3G plans provide the coverage and reliability of the LTE network. Speed and signal strength may vary with your device, configuration, Internet traffic, environmental conditions, applicable network management and other factors, using methods which include Internet traffic management practices. - Data overage $20/GB in Canada, rounded up to the nearest GB (for example: 1.01 GB of additional data usage is rounded up to 2 GB, resulting in a charge of $40).
- Pay-per-use rates apply to usage exceeding what's included in your rate plan. Subject to change over time. See a list of full additional usage charges and one time charges.
- Apps on your smartphone use data, too. If you want to avoid Pay-Per-Use data charges make sure to turn data off on your phone.
- Canada-Wide Calling applies to calls made from Canada to a Canadian number or calls received from any number while you are inside Canada.
- Additional Anytime Minutes are 75¢/min. Long distance charges on calls to the U.S. are 75¢/min. in addition to your local per minute rate.
- Standard out of country roaming and international long distance rates apply.
- Monthly 911 fees apply in: AB (95¢), NB (97¢), NL (75¢), NS (43¢), PEI (70¢), SK ($2.14), QC (54¢/mo.), and NT ($3.00/mo.). Fees withheld will be remitted to the government.
- All plans includes Unlimited Worldwide Texts from Canada.
- Unlimited Canada-wide texting & Picture Messaging: is only valid when message is sent and received from Canada. Text messages sent within the U.S. or internationally, premium text messages, text alerts, messages sent with an instant messaging application and dial-up messages are not included in any plan and cost extra.
- Picture messaging will only work if you have turned on data on your phone.
- Standard definition video streaming: Available with 10 GB+ data plans is 480p and is dependent on streaming service platform and device capability.
- For Canada-US Roaming plans: Subscriber must be (and remain) a Canadian resident and the majority of your usage must be in Canada. Max. data usage per user may be capped at 10 GB/ billing period while in the U.S. Includes texts sent to a Canadian or U.S. phone number while in Canada and U.S., texts received while in Canada or the U.S. and excludes premium texts. While in the U.S., calls or texts to numbers that are outside of Canada and the U.S. are not included and will be billed at $1.45/min for calls and $0.15/text. Roaming outside Canada and the U.S. not included. Sending and receiving picture or video messaging in the U.S. use data from your rate plan.
- Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon only: LTE speeds available with compatible devices. Speed and signal strength may vary with your device, configuration, Internet traffic, environmental conditions, applicable network management and other factors, using methods which include Internet traffic management practices. - Roam Sweet Roam automatically activates when using a device in the U.S. and select international destinations, and a daily fee applies. Roam Sweet Roam is an optional feature, which can be removed and is subject to change, including coverage, rates and usage allowances.
- The Roam Sweet Roam - with home data feature will be added to your account within 24 hours of activation, price plan change or hardware upgrade.
- You can remove Roam Sweet Roam any time by texting REMOVEROAM to 6800 or through the Add or remove add-ons section in My Account.
- Beyond 5 GB of data usage per day, speeds are up to 512 Kbps for the rest of the day, suitable for light web browsing, email and messaging.† Data speeds reset at 12:00 a.m. (ET) daily.

- Roam Sweet Roam is available to customers on most monthly plans, within the coverage areas of certain Virgin Plus roaming partners in the U.S. and international destinations.
- Roam Sweet Roam is not available on prepaid plans and plans that include roaming services.
- Roam Sweet Roam may be incompatible with other roaming features on your line that require removal before Roam Sweet Roam can be added.
- Roam Sweet Roam is a pay-per-use feature subject to change without notice, including coverage, rates and usage allowances.
- You will only be charged for a maximum of 20 days per line in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and a maximum of 20 days per line in other international destinations within the same billing period. Additional charges for data top-ups still apply.
- Premium texts and Text to Landline messages are not included and are subject to additional charges.
- Roam Sweet Roam is not to be used for roaming permanently or semi-permanently within any Roam Sweet Roam destination(s).
- Certain types of usage will not result in the daily charge, including: making a call to Virgin Plus customer service, receiving texts, or using non-chargeable data.
