Data roaming charges happen whenever you use data outside of Canada. And they can add up pretty fast.
This means if you’re travelling with a smartphone and use apps like Facebook, Twitter, email and more you’ll be using up data while you’re there.
To avoid data roaming charges, remember to turn off data roaming and connect your phone to Wi-Fi.
You can also add a Roaming & Travel feature if you don’t want to rack up a super-high bill.
If you have a phone with a different operating system:
- Head to the interactive phone guides.
- Select your phone’s brand.
- Select your phone’s model.
- Search for “Roaming” and click on the link that corresponds to the instructions on how to turn data roaming On or Off.
