How to Purchase and Use Data Travel Passes.
For destinations not covered by Roam Sweet Roam, a Data Travel Pass provides a fixed amount of data for you to use on your device while travelling outside Canada.
Heads up! Data Travel Pass will no longer be available as of March 19, 2026.
Good to know.
- Without a roaming data add-on, you'll be unable to use data when travelling.
- We'll send you a message to let you know when you're at 80% of your Data Travel Pass usage, and when you're almost at the end of your pass balance, so you can purchase a new pass if you like.
- Phones on Prepaid plans will not work in the US and International destinations as roaming is not available for Prepaid.

- Download and open the My Account app
- Tap on Buy travel add-ons
- Enter your destination to view the different travel options and purchase the one right for you

How to Use
Data Travel Pass (30 Days)
- Must be activated within 30 days from when you buy it.
- Passes activate automatically as soon as you use the first kilobyte of roaming data after buying one.
- You don't need to remove Data Travel Passes as they will automatically expire 30 days from your date of activation.
- Passes are stackable, so if you need lots of data you can purchase multiple passes before leaving and use them back-to-back continuously.
